Pets of the Month: Callie & Thor from La Follette, TN
We’re excited to feature Callie and Thor as this month’s Pets of the Month! These two Golden Retrievers, ages 11 and 9, are a pair we always look forward to seeing. They’re brother and sister, best friends, and never far from each other’s side.
One of the sweetest memories we have of them was out in the play yard on a sunny afternoon. They were stretched out side by side, soaking up the sun. Thor leaned over and gave Callie a few kisses while her tail wagged like crazy and she smiled the whole time. It was just about the cutest thing we’ve ever seen.
Going the Extra Mile
Callie doesn’t love storms, so whenever the weather turns, our staff makes sure she gets her favorite cheese and lots of extra cuddles to keep her calm. Thor helps too. He sticks close and comforts her like only a big brother can. Watching him look out for her shows just how strong their bond really is.
Callie and Thor have the best wiggle-butts you’ll ever see, and they’ll happily do just about anything for cheese. But more than anything, they love being together. We’re so glad they’re part of the Little Lake family, and they always bring a smile to our faces when they come to stay.
Bonus Story: Sophie’s Happy Ending
We also have to share Sophie’s story! Sophie came to Little Lake Pet Lodge after one of our clients realized they could no longer physically care for her. Thanks to the kindness of Debbie Howard — who also happens to be the proud owner of Thor and Callie — Sophie found her forever home in just one day.
The picture captures the moment Sophie was adopted right here at the Lodge! It was such a special day, and we couldn’t be happier knowing she’s now part of a loving family.
